Since its creation studio Harcourt has preserved and cultivated the fundamental values that have forged its success and reputation: excellence, aesthetics and the very Parisian art of entertaining. Born from the collaboration between Cosette Harcourt and the Lacroix brothers, press bosses, Studio Harcourt was founded in 1934 in the 8th arrondissement of Paris. Iconic thanks to its inimitable black and white style, the aesthetics of Studio Harcourt draws its inspiration from the roots of the golden age of black and white French cinema. The Studio has become a true institution, today labelled “Entreprise du Patrimoine Vivant” (Living Heritage Company).
The Harcourt label pursues a quest for timelessness by representing not only portraits but above all by creating a pictorial memory of the great artistic, cultural and political figures of the 20th century. We don’t joke about portraits at Studio Harcourt! It’s an art form. The play of light and shadow added to black and white are there to give a mystical effect to portrait, capturing a moment where time is suspended and highlighting its object.
The passion for photography and its intensity is also expressed at Studio Harcourt in posters at caractère strong as it is here with this woman: we love it!
